Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Arcenly website and service located at arcenly.app ("Service"), you confirm that:

• You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
• You are at least 16 years of age, or have had a parent or guardian read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
• If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT USE THE SERVICE. In such case, you must (a) contact us to request deletion of your data; (b) cancel any active subscriptions; and (c) stop using the Service.

Arcenly is an AI-powered resume and cover letter builder that helps job seekers — particularly early-career professionals — create professional, ATS-optimised application documents. The Service includes:

• A structured resume builder with multiple professionally designed templates.
• AI-powered writing assistance (bullet points, summaries, cover letters) powered by the OpenAI API.
• ATS score checker — analyses your resume against a job description.
• Roast My Resume — AI critique mode providing detailed feedback.
• AI Interview Coach — generates likely interview questions based on your resume.
• LinkedIn PDF import — upload a LinkedIn export PDF and have your profile auto-filled.
• PDF export of finished resumes.

The Service is provided as a subscription (free or Pro). Features available on each plan are described in Section 4. We reserve the right to modify, add, or remove features with reasonable notice.

To use the Service you must create an account. Account creation is handled via:

• Google OAuth 2.0 — signing in with your Google account via Supabase Auth.
• Apple Sign-In — signing in with your Apple ID via Supabase Auth.

No passwords are stored by Arcenly. By connecting a third-party account you authorise us to receive the profile data described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your linked Google or Apple account.
• All activity that occurs under your Arcenly account.
• Notifying us immediately at support@arcenly.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

You must not share your account with others or use the Service on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.

Free plan

• Up to 2 saved resumes.
• Up to 1 saved cover letter.
• 1 resume template.
• Basic AI writing suggestions.
• ATS checker.
• PDF export.

Pro plan

• Unlimited resumes and cover letters.
• All 10+ resume templates.
• Full AI-powered writing (bullet points, summaries, full cover letters).
• Roast My Resume.
• AI Interview Coach.
• LinkedIn PDF import.

We reserve the right to change plan features and limits with 14 days' notice. Existing paying subscribers will not have paid features removed mid-billing period.

Payment processing

All payments for the Pro plan are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. By subscribing you agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment details — Arcenly never sees, stores, or has access to your full card number.

Subscription & renewal

• The Pro plan is a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you select.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page or via Lemon Squeezy's billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Pro access until then.
• Prices are displayed in USD and may be subject to local taxes applied by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record.

Free trial

We may offer a free trial period on the Pro plan. If a trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel during the trial at no cost.

Refunds

Refunds are handled at our discretion. If you believe you were charged in error or wish to request a refund, contact us at support@arcenly.app within 14 days of the charge with your order details. We will review each request fairly.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, your subscription may be downgraded to the free plan until payment is resolved. Your resume data will not be deleted.

• Ownership — you retain full ownership of all content you create using Arcenly, including resumes, cover letters, and uploaded files.
• Licence to us — by using the Service, you grant Arcenly a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete your content or account.
• Your responsibility — you are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you create. You must not include false, misleading, or defamatory information in your resumes.
• No training use — your resume and cover letter content is never used to train AI models (ours or OpenAI's).
• Backups — while we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, you are responsible for keeping copies of important content.

Arcenly uses the OpenAI API to generate resume bullet points, summaries, cover letters, ATS analysis, interview questions, and critique feedback.

• AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and suggestion only. It may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or text that does not accurately reflect your experience.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before submitting it to employers or third parties.
• Arcenly makes no guarantee that AI-generated content will result in interview invitations, job offers, or any other employment outcome.
• Do not include confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information about third parties (e.g. colleagues, clients) in prompts or resume sections used for AI generation.
• OpenAI's usage policies apply to AI-generated content. See OpenAI's Usage Policies.

The Service relies on the following third-party providers. Your use of the Service constitutes acknowledgement that these providers' terms and policies apply:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. Disruption to a third-party service may temporarily affect the availability of Arcenly features.

Our IP

The Arcenly brand name, logo, website design, UI, template designs, and underlying technology are owned by us and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written permission.

Third-party marks

The names and logos of third-party companies displayed on our site (e.g. in the "Hired at" section) are trademarks of their respective owners.¹ References to them do not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by Arcenly unless specifically noted.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

You must not use Arcenly to:

• Create fraudulent, false, or misleading resumes or cover letters intended to deceive employers.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications in a way that could constitute fraud.
• Upload, transmit, or generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or violates any third-party rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or abuse the Service or its APIs.
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the Service in a way that causes disproportionate load.
• Circumvent plan limits (e.g. creating multiple accounts to bypass free-tier restrictions).
• Resell, white-label, or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination without refund.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARCENLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times.
• That AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
• That use of the Service will result in employment, interview invitations, or any other outcome.
• That the Service will be free from viruses or other harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ARCENLY AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING:

• Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities.
• Reliance on AI-generated content that proves inaccurate.
• Disruption caused by third-party service outages (Supabase, OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy).

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $10, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

By you

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon account deletion, all your resumes, cover letters, and personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Subscription cancellation does not automatically delete your account.

By us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms.
• We are required to do so by law.
• We reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to others or to the integrity of the Service.

If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide a pro-rata refund for any unused portion of a paid subscription period.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction, as permitted by applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
