Refund Policy

Summary: Arcenly Pro comes with a 7-day free trial — no credit card required to try. Once you subscribe, payments are non-refundable, but you can cancel at any time and keep Pro access until the end of your billing period. In exceptional circumstances we may issue a refund at our discretion. Contact us at support@arcenly.app and we'll do right by you.

1. Our Products

Arcenly ("we", "us", "our") provides a web-based AI resume and cover letter builder available at arcenly.com. We offer two plans:

  • Free Plan — permanently free, includes unlimited resumes, 1 cover letter, 1 template, ATS checking, and PDF export. No payment information is required.
  • Pro Plan — a recurring subscription billed monthly or annually. Includes unlimited resumes, all 10+ templates, unlimited AI-written cover letters, Roast My Resume, AI Interview Coach, LinkedIn PDF import, and priority support.

All payments for Pro subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy appears on your bank statement as the merchant and is responsible for handling the transaction.

2. Free Trial

Arcenly Pro includes a 7-day free trial. During the trial period:

  • You have full access to all Pro features at no charge.
  • No payment is taken until the trial ends.
  • You can cancel at any time before the trial ends without any charge whatsoever.
  • If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid Pro subscription and your payment method will be charged.

We encourage you to use the free trial to fully evaluate whether Arcenly Pro meets your needs before your first payment is made.

3. General No-Refund Policy

Because Arcenly is a digital SaaS product — meaning the service is delivered instantly and entirely online — all paid subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has commenced, except as described in Section 4 (Exceptional Circumstances) or as required by applicable consumer protection law.

This applies to:

  • Monthly subscription charges once the billing cycle has begun.
  • Annual subscription charges once the annual period has begun.
  • Any charges that occurred because you did not cancel before the free trial ended.
  • Partial billing periods — we do not issue pro-rata refunds for unused days.

We believe this is fair because:

  • A free tier is available to try core features before upgrading.
  • A 7-day free trial is offered before any payment is taken.
  • Cancellation is instant and self-serve from your account settings — no hoops to jump through.

4. Exceptional Circumstances

We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis and may issue a full or partial refund at our sole discretion in the following situations:

  • Duplicate charge — you were charged more than once for the same billing period due to a technical error.
  • Charge after cancellation — you were charged after properly cancelling your subscription and have evidence of the cancellation confirmation.
  • Service unavailability — Arcenly experienced a prolonged and documented outage (more than 72 consecutive hours) that prevented you from using the service during a paid period you had not yet used.
  • Accidental upgrade — you accidentally upgraded within 48 hours of the charge and have not materially used Pro features (e.g. no AI generations, no extra resumes created) during that window.
  • Consumer law rights — you are entitled to a statutory cooling-off refund under applicable consumer protection law in your country (for example, the EU/UK 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services where delivery has not yet begun or you have not waived your right to cancellation).

Refund requests based on dissatisfaction with AI output quality, change of mind, or not using the service after subscribing are generally not eligible, given the free trial we provide.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at support@arcenly.app with:

  • The email address associated with your Arcenly account.
  • The date of the charge you are disputing.
  • A brief description of the reason for your request.
  • Any supporting evidence (e.g. cancellation confirmation screenshot, bank statement showing duplicate charge).

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days. If your request is approved, the refund will be processed by Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.

Please note that initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank before contacting us may result in your account being suspended. We strongly prefer to resolve issues directly and quickly.

6. Cancellations

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from Settings → Billing inside your Arcenly account. Cancellation is immediate and self-serve — no need to contact us.

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription will not renew at the end of the current billing period.
  • You retain full Pro access until the last day of the period you have already paid for.
  • After that date, your account automatically reverts to the Free plan — your resumes and cover letters remain accessible, but Pro-only features (e.g. extra templates, AI writing, Roast, Interview Coach) will no longer be available.
  • Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period.

7. Plan Downgrades

If you switch from the annual plan to the monthly plan, or from Pro to Free, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refund is issued for the difference in plan pricing.

8. Failed or Disputed Payments

If a payment fails (e.g. expired card, insufficient funds), Lemon Squeezy will attempt to retry the charge. If retries are unsuccessful, your subscription may be paused or cancelled. You will be notified by email to update your payment details.

If you believe a charge on your statement is unauthorised, please contact us at support@arcenly.app before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will investigate and resolve genuine errors promptly. Unjustified chargebacks may result in account suspension.

9. Merchant of Record

All payment processing, tax collection, and subscription management is handled by Lemon Squeezy as the Merchant of Record. This means:

  • Lemon Squeezy is the legal seller of record for your subscription.
  • VAT, GST, and any applicable sales tax is calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy.
  • Refund requests are processed through Lemon Squeezy's systems, but you should always contact us first at support@arcenly.app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify active subscribers by email. Your continued use of Arcenly after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
